Its the little things that matter
So there is a lot of hype about the iPhone 3.0 release this week and the new iPhone 3Gs. I updated my 3G today while I wait for my 3GS to arrive and immediately checked out all the new features I’d read about and they didn’t really wow me because I we’ve heard about them so much. Great improvements for sure but its the little things that really show attention to detail. I am an avid Audio Book “reader”. Since I live in LA and spend 2-3 hours in the car every day this works out pretty well.
Today after my 3.0 update I fire up my current book and I see there are new controls in the iPod just for Audio Books, theres a button to skip back 30 seconds and a button to control the play speed 1x, 2x and 1/2 speed. That 30 second rewind is perfect for when you want to repeat something you might have missed.
If you’re a Sci-Fi fan, check out the Hyperion and Endymion books by Dan Simmons. they’re really good. It feels a little preachy and philosophical at times but it is definitely a unique perspective on the future of religion, politics and the Human race.

I read Hyperion many years ago as well as it’s follow up. Wonderful read ! So glad you have found them and are enjoying them. It’s a completely different way to look at religion.
